European U15 Championships 2016
European U15 Championships 2016 took place in Kazan, Russia from February 19-21. 162 players from 34 countries participated in the event, from which 51 boys fought for the champion's title in the boys' singles, 59 girls played in the girls' singles. In addition, there were 20 participants in the boys' doubles, 23 participants in the girls' doubles and 42 participants in the mixed doubles. Armenia took part in the continent's most important badminton event U15. Our country was represented by Knarik Margaryan(GS, GD), Gayane Mamajanyan(GS,GD) and Arman Vardanyan(BS).
In the girls' singles Gayane Mamajanyan lost her first match against Russian player Ekaterina Razyantseva. Arman Vardanyan had the same result in the boy's singles. He lost to Georgi Lebedev. This was the first international stage for the both players.
Knarik Margaryan, who recently won the 3rd place in the Slovenia Junior U15 International 2015, had a better try. She won her first match against Johana Eduardo from Portugal 17:21, 21:16, 21:16. The next match was against Bengisu Ercetin from Turkey. Margaryan lost to her 9:21, 7:21.
In the girls' doubles Knarik and Gayane lost to Rachel Cameron-Rachel Sugden from Sweden (6-21, 12-21).
